Andrie Steyn, the South Africa batter, has been ruled out of the ICC Women’s World Cup after suffering an ankle injury during a training session. The ICC’s Event Technical Committee approved Odine Kirsten as the replacement, it was confirmed on Thursday (July 6).
In the final game of that series, she picked up 4 for 10 as South Africa shot down Bangladesh for just 68 to take the series 4-1.
South Africa have played four matches so far in the World Cup and have two wins – against Pakistan and West Indies. They are fourth in the table above New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and West Indies.
