Date & Time: Jun 14-Jun 18, 09:30 AM LOCAL.

“The whole world knows that (we have good spinners like) Rashid Khan, Mujeeb, Nabi, Rahmat (Shah), Zahir (Khan),” Stanikzai told ESPN. “In Afghanistan, the brilliant thing is that a lot of the young talent that is coming through are spinners, because they all follow Rashid, they follow Nabi, so because of that our spin department is very strong from below. In my opinion, we have good spinners, better spinners than India.”

India stand to lose three points if they lose this match but their number-one position is under no threat, thanks to a 13-point lead over South Africa.”It`s a great moment for us as we embark on our Test journey. To be playing our first Test against India is a great honour and we hope to give a good account of ourselves,” said Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai.

“To be competing against the best on the Test rankings table is something to be proud of and we will try to do our best in whatever chances we get and exhibit the skills the players possess individually as well as collectively as a team.”Accoding to India captain Ajinkya Rahane, “It`s a privilege to be playing in Afghanistan`s first Test match.

Afghanistan’s superman bowlers can turn the match single-handedly, says pacer Shapoor Zadran :“Our three spinners – Rashid, Nabi and Mujeeb are superman bowlers. They have the ability to turn a match on its head single-handedly. This will allow the captain to attack from both ends continuously. So alarms should be ringing in the Indian dressing room,” he told Indian Express.com.“You can see their impact. Whenever I wake up in the morning, I check the news and Rashid, Mujeeb are all over social media. So yes, I think India are already under pressure and we can definitely beat them,” he added.

Afghanistan`s spinners will be in focus too as Rashid Khan (top-ranked in T20Is, second in ODIs) and Mohammad Nabi (eighth in T20Is, 16th in ODIs) look to make a mark in Test cricket. Among batsmen, Rahmat Shah is their leading player in ODIs at 32nd position.
