Natwest T20 wrap - North Group: Willey-inspired Yorkshire seal win despite Whiteley onslaught

Yorkshire vs Worcestershire, Headingley in Leeds

Yorkshire prevailed over Worcestershire to keep top-spot in the group. The leaders were buoyed by an absolute carnage from David Willey, who smashed 118 off 55 balls – 84 of which came in boundaries (9 fours 8 sixes). Willey’s brutal onslaught left John Hastings with forgettable figures of 2 for 58 in just 3 overs. The second highest score in Yorkshire’s line up was 31 – by opener Adam Lyth, but small contributions from each of the middle-order batsman tipped the score over the 200-run mark.

Brief Scores: Yorkshire 233/6 in 20 overs (David Willey 118; John Hastings 2-58) beat Worcestershire 196/7 in 20 overs (Ross Whiteley 65, Joe Clarke 51; Adil Rashid 2-20, Tim Bresnan 2-42) by 37 runs
