Six candidates shortlisted for India coach's role

Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Phil Simmons, Richard Pybus and Lalchand Rajput candidates who will appear in front of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which comprises of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.

Apart from the six selected to present their case, Dodda Ganesh, Lance Klusener, Rakesh Sharma, who has coached Oman, and Upendranath Bramhachari, a layman with no cricketing background had applied for the role. There were also reports that Klusener has been kept on standby.



Simmons, the former Windies player, has overseen the development of sides like Ireland and Windies as head coach. He was in command of the side when they won the World T20 in India last year.
