Australian all-rounder, has been roped in by Trinbago Knight Riders for the rest of the CPL 2017 season. The veteran will replace Brendon McCullum, who was ruled out of the tournament with an injured arm while playing for the franchise against Barbados Tridents, on Saturday (September 2).
Last week, Christian led Nottinghamshire to their maiden domestic T20 title in England when the East Midlands County side defeated Warwickshire in the final. Christian himself played a pivotal role during the course of the tournament by scoring 356 runs and picking up 11 wickets.
The all-rounder has represented Australia in 15 T20Is and has played for Brisbane Heat, Middlesex, New South Wales, Rising Pune Supergiant, Royal Challengers Bangalore, South Australia, Victoria, Deccan Chargers, Gloucestershire, Hampshire and Hobart Hurricanes in competitions across the globe.
“Losing an iconic figure like Brendon to injury is clearly a massive loss to the team, but in Daniel we have a proven match-winner who has just led a side to a T20 title in England. We hope that he can make it two trophies in two weeks with us in Trinidad,” Simon Katich, Trinbago’s head coach said.
