Glenn Phillips confirmed replacement for Shakib in CPL

New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips, who joined the Jamaica Tallawahs on August 8, will now replace Shakib Al Hasan in the squad in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Shakib will return to Bangladesh to take part in the two-Test series against Australia at home, which means Phillips who was there in the squad already could get to feature in a few games. Phillips, who earned himself a T20I debut against South Africa in Auckland after his chart-topping feat at the T20 Super Smash (369 runs at strike-rate of 143), had registered for the CPL draft this year but wasn’t picked up with teams majorly preferring to retain players at most price categories.
Phillips became the sixth player from New Zealand to play in CPL 2017 with Kane Williamson (Barbados Tridents), Martin Guptill (Guyana Amazon Warriors), Brendon McCullum and Colin Munro (Trinbago Knight Riders), Mitchell McClenaghan and Jesse Ryder (St. Lucia Stars)
