“I have played with Raahil and I have seen Washington during TNPL. There are quite a few current IPL stars, all attacking players in the side. My role is to make the youngsters understand what it takes to do well at the highest level,” he said.

Tamil Nadu all-rounder Washington Sundar and left-arm spinner Raahil Shah are gearing up for the Australian challenge after they were included in the Board President’s XI squad for the upcoming tour match against the visitors at Chepauk on September 12.
The duo said that it was “recognition” for their impressive performances in Tamil Nadu’s twin-title victories (Vijay Hazare and Deodhar Trophy) in the domestic competitions last season. Raahil had claimed 22 wickets in 12 matches at an economy of 4.24 in the limited-overs tournaments, while Washington was frugal with his off-spin bowling picking crucial wickets.
