Pakistan suffered a major blow to their ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 campaign as vice-captain Bismah Mahroof was on Wednesday (June 28) ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with an injury to the right hand. The ICC has approved Iram Javed as a replacement for the allrounder.
Javed, meanwhile, last featured for Pakistan in an ODI during their 0-5 drubbing at the hands of New Zealand late last year. She was also a part of the 15-member squad at the ACC Women’s Asia Cup T20 that followed soon after in Thailand. She has played seven ODIs, scoring 37 runs, and picked up three wickets for Pakistan.
