IPL star Jofra Archer’s chances of making England’s World Cup squad look to be slim even if the England & Wales Cricket Board fast track his qualification.
There have been unofficial discussions within the ECB about reverting back to a four-year qualification period to keep in line with ICC standards, which would mean Archer would be eligible for international cricket next year.
“Providing everyone is fit, I think so,” said Morgan when asked if he thought it was too late for Archer. “He’s a guy that if he was English qualified we’d have looked at him after maybe the Bangladesh [Premier] league (in November). He would have gone on some Lions and from there seen what happened.”
