Justin Langer, the Western Australia coach Marsh’s consistent performances through the course of the tournament helped his side lift the title. “I’ve known Shaun since he was a little kid, I’ve never seen him bat as well as he’s batting at the moment,” said Langer.
Mitchell Marsh, Shaun’s younger brother, also showed his class and quality with a run-a-ball 80 in the final against South Australia in Hobart. The Marsh brothers will be competing for a spot in the Test squad alongside Hilton Cartwright, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.
“I’m looking forward to seeing that contest leading into The Ashes and see who’s going to grab hold of that position,” Langer noted. “Whether it’s Shaun or Mitch or any of the guys around Australia, the guy who can get Test hundreds should be batting at six. But I hope it’s one of them,” he added.
