Queensland have stormed into the Shield final after routing Western Australia on the final day of the rain-affected match at the Gabba.
Chasing 305 off 59 overs to keep their season alive, the Warriors had no option but to go for the runs but quickly nosedived and were bowled out for just 93 in 38.2 overs. Seamer Michael Neser (3-41) tore through the top-order highlighted by the key scalp of danger man D’Arcy Short (7) to leave the visitors reeling at 16-4.
Top-placed Queensland can book a home final if they beat NSW in the final round of the Shield, while WA and SA will clash with the loser to finish in the last position.
