Colin Bland, South African cricketer from the 1960s, passed away aged 80 at his home in London on Saturday night (April 14) after a prolonged battle with colon cancer. Bland represented South Africa in 21 Tests between 1961 and 1966, scoring 1669 runs at 49.08 including three centuries.
Bulawayo-born Bland enjoyed a great run playing first-class cricket for Rhodesia and was subsequently named in the national side for the home series against New Zealand in 1961.
