Andy Moles took over as New Zealand head coach in 2008, Ross Taylor was relatively new to international cricket and a 17-year-old Kane Williamson just started to make waves in the domestic.
“Taylor averages over 40 and yet he goes unheard of.When people talk about top players, Taylor gets overlooked probably because he is laidback and is an easy going character. He is a lovely man and doesn’t get involved in controversies. He doesn’t bring undue attention to himself. He just lets his bat do the talking. Taylor and Williamson have been the backbone to this side,” Moles told TOI on Tuesday .
With New Zealand 1-0 up in the ODI series, Moles believes the Kiwis “can go on to win” the series and that they “will not” be bullied by any opposition. “Everybody would expect India to bounce back in the next game. But New Zealand have their nose in front and they are a difficult side to beat once they are on top. They will not be bullied,” he added.
