The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) on Sunday wrote an email requesting BCCI to release funds in advance to host the practice match and sessions for the visiting Australian team for a span of 10 days.
Australia are set to begin their five-match ODI series against India in Chennai on September 17. The team will land in the city on September 8 and will be playing a practice match on September 12 in preparation for the series.
Confirming the news to TOI, a top TNCA official said they have requested the BCCI to send the money in advance. “Yes we’ve written an email to the BCCI to release funds early. Usually a host association takes care of the teams for about two-three days ahead of a match.
“However, Australia will be here by September 8 as they want to prepare for the series. We are asking only for the extra days (payment) than the usual,” said the official.
