Dinesh Chandimal, unbeaten on 151, and Dilruwan Perera (33) continued to pile on the runs as Sri Lanka seized control at Tea on Day 2 of the first Test against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. At the break, on Friday (September 29), the tourists had progressed to 403 for 7.
Brief scores: Sri Lanka 403/7 (Dinesh Chandimal 151*, Dimuth Karunaratne 93; Yasir Shah 3-119) vs Pakistan.
Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella (83) resumed the innings, with the score reading 227 for 4. The duo shared a vital stand of 134 to ensure Sri Lanka would close in on a score of 300. It was the ebullient Hasan who finally ended the threatening stand by inducing Dickwella to edge one onto the stumps. Despite losing his partner at the other end, Chandimal soon compiled his first century as captain with a creamy drive through covers.
