Smriti Shriniwas Mandhana – A 21 year old Indian Women cricketer who is very passionate of Playing cricket. The one girl who always chose to take-up responsibility of the whole team. She started taking this responsibility ever since she is of age 16!! Yeahh!! Its true.  She was made captain for the Maharashtra Senior team when she was of 16yrs age. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named her as the Best Women’s International Cricketer in June 2018.

Smriti mandhana was born on 18th July 1996 to Shrinivas Mandhana and Smiti Mandhana. She has a Brother Sharavan Mandhana. She says she plays similarly like her brother and he is her first guide. She even took up this game at the age of 6 by watching her brother playing. Her brother was her Idol player when she was a kid. Later when she actually started watching the games and started playing, she idolized Matthew Hayden for his dominating playing and Kumar Sangakkara for his classical shots. Her style of playing Bowling is Right-arm off break and is a left-handed batswomen.

When she is of age 9, she signed for Maharashtra’s Under-15 team, At 11 she was chosen for Maharashtra Under-19 Side and at the age of 16 she was moved to senior team. 2013 is the Year which got her fame.  She became the first Indian woman who made a double-hundred in a one-day game. When she played a Under-19 tournament(West Zone) in Vadodra ground, she played exceptionally and scored 224 off 150 balls against Gujarat Team. She played for INDIA RED in 2016 Women’s Challenger Trophy and scored 3 half centuries, She helped her team for winning the trophy against India blue by scoring 62 out of 82 balls in final and stood as the Tournament’s top-scorer with 192 runs.

She was one of the first two Indians who signed for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) along with Harmanpreet and played against Melbourne Renegades in January 2017 during which she was injured badly on the knee and was ruled out from the tournament.  She says that was the time she indulged more of positivity into herself. She recovered from the injury and played for the World Cup in 2017. This young Lady played a very key role in India reaching the Final of ICC Women’s World Cup in England for her phenomenal performance she was nominated for the Arjuna Award by the BCCI.  She is even the first Indian Player who signed for Kia Super League in June 2018 to defend Western Storm. She was also named as the “national crush” by Twitter-verse when she is of 21 Years  for which she was disappointed. Because, She always wanted to be well known for her batting not for her looks.
